China Imports Origins
In our travels to central China, we happened upon some little known minority peoples in the Guizhou Province located on the southwest China mainland.
It adjoins Sichuan Province to the north, Yunnan Province to the west, Guangxi Province to the south and Hunan Province to the east. Guizhou Province covers an area of over 176,000 square kilometers (about 67,958 square miles) with a total population of more than 35 million people.
Guizhou Province is unfamiliar to many travelers and tourists.
More than 15 minority ethnic groups settled in Guizhou Province provide rich and varied handwork in embroidery, weaving, shibori (tie-dye) and batik.
Using a combination of our own designs, traditional Miao patterns and the expert sewing skills of the local women, we have put together many collections whose popularity spans cultures and generations.
Tibet , an autonomous region of China, offers another source of imports. The Tibetan culture is trying to preserve their heritage by not commercializing and mass producing their products. Each product we import from Tibet is precious and custom made for your enjoyment.
